<DIV>Dear all:</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>As many of you know Jennings Ruffing in Medford is dying. His
wife, Becky was my Rectora when I was Vice-Rectora. I was able to free
up Saturday and drove to Medford with the hopes of visiting with him early
afternoon. He was sleeping so I thought it best not to wake him. I spent about 1
1/2 hours in prayer vigil for him while I sat and
said prayers, wrote him a note, wept, and said my "goodbyes." I have
been told that he's not eating much now, sleeps most of the time and his
medication pretty much "knocks him out." [my words] He had a full day yesterday
(Friday) with a group from church singing to him. All-in-all, he looked very
peaceful. For those of you who know the Jennings, the prayer I prayed: </DIV>

<DIV><EM>O Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, who for our sakes
didst become a babe in Bethlehem: We commend unto thy loving care this
servant whom thou art calling to thyself. Send thy holy angel to lead him gently
to those heavenly habitations where the souls of them that sleep in thee have
perpetual peace and joy, and fold him in the everlasting arms of thine unfailing
love: who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Ghost, one God, world
without end. Amen. (BCP, South Africa, p.
469) </EM> </DIV>

<DIV>Continue to ask God to shower his family and Becky with his grace at this
time.</DIV>
